Public Utilities Commission Rules in SCOPE’s favor, January 31st 2013:

Public Utilities Commission Administrative Law Judge rules:

  1. Valencia Water Company must file and serve an application for a transfer of control pursuant to California Pub. Util. Code § 851 and any other applicable code provisions. This application must be filed no later than 14 days from the date of this ruling.
  2. Valencia Water Company and Castaic Lake Water Agency must timely file and serve a full and complete answer to Case 13-01-005.
  3. All parties and persons of interest are hereby put on notice that any transfer of control of Valencia Water Company to Castaic Lake Water Agency or any other entity may be void absent specific authority granted by this Commission.

Superior Court Finalizes Newhall Ranch Decision, Sets Aside Santa Clara River Alteration Permit, October 15th, 2012:

In a final decision, a Superior Court Judge ruled for the Center for Biological Diversity and four other plaintiffs, including SCOPE. The petition was filed by the environmental groups in January 2011, challenging the legitimacy of the permit to alter the Santa Clara River granted for the massive 21,000 unit Newhall Ranch project by the California Department of Fish and Game.
